Eurokars Group expands MG line up in Singapore with the all-new MG5 EV

Singapore, 4 Sep 2021 – Eurokars Group is proud to announce the arrival of the all-new MG5 EV. The spacious and practical body style expands the range of quality electric vehicles (EVs) in the Group’s portfolio and provides another reliable and stylish option for car owners moving to EVs from internal combustion engine vehicles. Eurokars EV Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eurokars Group and authorised distributor of MG cars in Singapore, launches the all-new MG5 EV today (4 Sep 2021) with both variants – MG5 EV Exclusive and MG5 EV Excite – available for immediate booking.
With a 61.1kWh battery, the all-new MG5 EV Exclusive delivers a 403km WLTP-certified range, about eight times the distance between Tuas and Changi. The MG5 EV Excite – with its 50.3kWh battery – has a range of 316km. An 80% battery charge can be achieved in just 40 minutes using a 50kW rapid charger for both models, eliminating range anxiety for urban drivers. To enhance driving experience and maximise driving range, the MG5 EV is also equipped with regenerative braking to improve brake efficiency and optimise battery charge usage.

Offering flexibility and functionality, coupled with great driving dynamics and zero exhaust emissions, the all-new MG5 is designed with everyday life in mind. With up to 495 litres of boot space, drivers can look forward to memorable weekends picnicking and camping with their loved ones and making use of the abundant space for grocery shopping and transporting sports equipment, such as golf sets and bicycles.
The all-new MG5 offers attractive proportions and minimalistic-designed features that enhance the appearance of a sophisticated and modern vehicle. The driver and front passenger will enjoy the six-way adjustable driver and four-way adjustable passenger seats, while rear seat passengers can look forward to ample head room and legroom even when seated behind a tall driver. The MG5 EV Exclusive provides additional comfort with lumber adjustment for the driver’s seat. Drivers and passengers will enjoy connectivity and entertainment through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on an 8″ colour touchscreen infotainment system and six-speaker premium audio system with 3D sound.
To enhance confidence on the roads, the all-new MG5 EV Exclusive is equipped with driver-assist technologies, including Active Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Jam Assist, in addition to other active and passive safety systems. This suite of safety technologies will give drivers greater peace of mind as they enjoy their daily lifestyle pursuits with their loved ones.
The MG5 EV is the third MG model to be introduced here, following the return of the iconic British marque to Singapore in 2020. The fully-electric MG ZS EV was the best-selling EV in Singapore last year and continues to be the leading EV model this year.
From now till 31 Dec 2021, new owners joining the MG family will benefit from the EV Early Adopter Incentive (EEAI) scheme and pay the minimum Additional Registration Fee (ARF) of $5,000. Under the Vehicle Emissions Scheme, they will enjoy the maximum rebate of $25,000 for the MG5 EV.
