Team McLaren at the 2019 Formula 1™ Singapore Grand Prix
McLaren Singapore hosted a series of events ahead of the 2019 Formula 1™ Singapore Grand Prix on 22 September. Fans and guests of McLaren were invited to two exclusive events where they spent both afternoons with members of the McLaren team before the race weekend.
On 20 September, McLaren Singapore hosted lunch at Plentyfull whereby attendees had the opportunity to meet Mr Lando Norris, the current McLaren Formula 1™ driver. At this by-invitation only event, Mr Norris shared his excitement and confidence in racing at the iconic Marina Bay Street Circuit as well as his account of the hard work behind his preparation for the race.
Another highlight of the event was the ‘A Ride On’ race where the guests raced against one another to clock the fastest time. The winner received prizes including a cap and helmet which were autographed by Mr Norris.

On Sunday morning, McLaren owners and guests gathered for The McLaren Brunch with McLaren Automotive’s Design Director, Mr Rob Melville, at LAVO. During brunch, he reiterated the importance of one of the key tenets of McLaren’s core values — having a mindset to continuously do things better – which has kept his design team at McLaren focused and grounded.

Also present was the newly appointed Team Principal of McLaren Racing, Mr Andreas Seidl, who shared his vision and aspirations for the racing team ahead of the Grand Prix. This gave the guests a rare glimpse into one of the world’s most pioneering race teams.

Guests at the brunch were challenged to a drawing competition which was judged by Mr Melville. The winner of the best sketch took home a personalised sketch that was autographed by him.
