Eurokars Group

INDONESIA, 1 November 2016 – Following the announcement that PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), a subsidiary of Eurokars Group, has been appointed by Mazda Motor Corporation as the Distributor of Mazda vehicles in Indonesia, plans are well underway to ensure seamless transition and continuity.

Working closely with Mazda Motor Corporation which regards Indonesia as one of its most important markets in the region, EMI is also looking to propel the further expansion of Mazda’s business, raise the brand profile of Mazda vehicles, and maximise growth opportunities in Indonesia.

“Leading up to the official transfer of the distribution network from PT Mazda Motor Indonesia to EMI in February 2017, we are tirelessly pursuing initiatives that are aimed at elevating customer service and after sales support to a whole new level; expanding our product line-up; increasing the sales of Mazda vehicles, and fueling market penetration in this vital and strategic market,” says Mr Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group.

Among the key measures are the rehiring of all current PT Mazda Motor Indonesia (MMI) staff, all of whom have been briefed about the transfer of the distribution network to EMI and invited to join the new distributor entity. Furthermore, EMI will beef up its management team to further support the expected growth of the Mazda brand in Indonesia.

Additionally, all 45 dealers under the existing MMI distribution network will become EMI dealers post the official transfer in February 2017. And in line with what had been announced earlier, EMI will also be responsible for all after sales including the warranties of all Mazda vehicles sold by MMI prior to the transfer. There will be no changes in the after sales provisions and the availability of spare parts, and EMI is intent on further enhancing its after sales support in the future.

Mazda customers and supporters can look forward to more options through an expansion of the model range as EMI will have an extensive product line-up. Details of future models and the timing of their launch will be announced in due course.

“We’re placing utmost importance on teamwork and close collaboration with our network of dealers. We will work hand in hand with them to continue to drive the growth and success of Mazda in Indonesia and, at the same time, significantly enhance after sales services as well as customer experience from the point of pre-purchase to ownership,” says Mr Herbert Kwee, CEO, Eurokars Group, Indonesia.

“To reiterate, we value the opportunities that come with our appointment as the Distributor of Mazda vehicles in Indonesia, one of the most important markets in the region for Mazda Motor Corporation, and certainly strategic, being the largest economy in Southeast Asia. Since 2002, Eurokars Group has been committed to growing and developing the dynamic automotive market of Indonesia. Indeed, our long-standing and strong track record in Indonesia put us in good stead for this appointment by Mazda Motor Corporation which is looking to us to help them to localise their business and adapt quickly to a rapidly evolving business environment. We will continue to funnel significant resources into this high priority market, and dedicate our unwavering efforts to strengthen Mazda as a brand and vehicle of choice for all car buyers and enthusiasts in Indonesia,” he adds.
